The OMEGA VRT350 is a vertical masticating juicer. It has a single auger that slowly crushes the food to get the juice out of it. In the second stage of juicing, it presses the pulp to extract as much juice as possible and leave the pulp dry and easy to manage. I did quite a bit of research to find the juicer that would be best for me and decided on the OMEGA VRT350 Vertical masticating juicer. Some of the pros that convinced me to buy this particular juicer are:
- Easy to assemble/disassemble
- Large collection containers
- Juice can be stored
The OMEGA VRT350 Vertical Masticating Juicer
Some of the instructions for the juicers that I looked at looked more like they were for building a robot than putting together a juicer. There were so many parts and pages of steps that needed to be followed in order or the juicer wouldn’t work properly. The OMEGA VRT350 Vertical masticating juicer has three basic parts aside from the collection bins. The hopper where the food goes in is attached to the top of the bowl and that attaches to the base. It’s that simple. The pulp and juice collection bins simply sit beside it.
Those collection bins are not puny either. This juicer comes with two bins, or containers, that are capable of holding 64 ounces. In case you aren’t thinking about the math, that is four 8 ounce glasses of juice. That means that I don’t have to stop juicing until I have enough for everyone in my family to get a full glass of juice. My brother has a juicer that has a smaller juice collecting bin and he has to stop juicing and empty it into glasses or another container before he can make enough servings for four people. Having a large pulp collecting bin is great, too. I don’t have to worry about it getting too full to continue juicing when I am making juices that produce a lot of pulp. The pulp that my OMEGA VRT350 Vertical masticating juicer expels is not all gloppy and sticky. It is very dry and easy to dump out of the collection bin. I put the pulp in our composter and we use the compost on our vegetable garden where we grow many of the vegetables that we juice.
If I know that we have a busy schedule the following day, I will spend a little extra time and make a double batch of juice so that it is ready when we are ready to drink it. Due to the slow juicing process of this juicer, there is no oxidation and degradation. I can store the whole batch of juice for up to 72 hours without being concerned that it will go bad. We each can just pour a glass of juice when we have the time and no one ends up running late.
I definitely recommend the OMEGA VRT350 Vertical masticating juicer to anyone that wants to quickly and easily make nutritious juice for themselves or their whole family. This juicer runs quietly and makes quick work of vegetables, fruits, and even greens like wheatgrass.
